JONATHAN DONVILLE JOINS OJLL AS DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCER AND COLOUR ANALYST
(Toronto, ON) June 22, 2022 —The Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) is pleased to announce the addition of Jonathan Donville to the media team as the league’s Digital Content Producer and Colour Analyst.
Donville was selected first-overall in the most recent National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft by the Panther City Lacrosse Club. A former first-overall selection in the 2015 Junior A Entry Draft, Donville was an integral part of the Mimico Mountaineers’ Minto Cup run in 2017. He was named Captain of the Mountaineers before being traded to Orangeville, where he helped the Northmen capture their 7th Minto Cup in 2019. He was named MVP of the national championship and later received the E.W. Billy Evans Award, awarded annually to the most outstanding graduating Junior “A” player in Ontario.
“Jonathan brings a unique perspective of the league and today's stars having competed alongside them, his credentials for this role are unparalleled,” said Colleen Grimes, Director of Public Relations for the OJLL. “His experience will prove to be invaluable and I couldn’t be more excited to have him on our team.”
A Cornell University graduate, taking up Masters in Journalism at the University of Maryland, and current producer of everybody’s favourite lacrosse podcast, Back Of The Bird, Donville brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the OJLL at an exciting time for the new direction of the league.
Donville will join veteran play-by-play announcer Matthew Caruk (@LacrosseBoss) behind the mic tonight as his Mimico Mountaineers travel to the new Canada Games Arena to take on their former head coach Steve Toll and the St. Catharines Athletics.
