RYAN SWANSON JOINS OJLL AS DIGITAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
(Toronto, ON) June 24, 2022 —The Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) is pleased to welcome Ryan Swanson to the media team as the league’s new Digital Media Coordinator.
Swanson is a high school student in Ottawa, ON where he currently plays junior lacrosse for the Nepean Knights Junior C team and volunteers with the Capital Region Axemen and Nepean Knights Minor Lacrosse Association creating digital content. He founded his own business, Otown Lax Lab when he was eleven years old, creating custom dyes for some notable NLL players.
Swanson is the creative brain behind the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) prank that went viral in 2020 when the league announced an expansion team on April Fools Day. Swanson submitted the concept for Beans Lacrosse Club with the slogan “Droppin’ Bombs”. The PLL announced the prank team as they would an actual team: with a logo, press release, and merchandise that marked the highest ecommerce store traffic day in league history by over 30%. The PLL Beans have since become a staple in the league’s social media presence.
An aspiring graphic designer, Swanson will work alongside Colleen Grimes, Director of Public Relations for the OJLL, and Jon Donville, Digital Content Producer to coordinate website and social media content for the league.
